Asheville’s newest craft brewery launches tonight! Head over to The Lobster Trap (35 Patton Avenue, Asheville) tonight, to try out the beers from OysterHouse Brewing Company. These beer has been expertly sampled by Lane, and given his stamp of approval. And he knows about these things.
Here is the T-shirt design for this year’s Mount Mitchell Challenge, courtesy of the Image 420 Art Department.
The Black Mountain Marathon and Mount Mitchell Challenge is a yearly event in Western North Carolina. Here is a brief description, taken from the marathon’s website:
The Challenge is this: Begin at dawn in Black Mountain, the quaint “front porch of Western North Carolina”, and follow trails to the “rooftop” of Western North Carolina, the 6,684′ summit of Mount Mitchell – eastern America’s highest point – then return to the start/finish area! With a starting altitude of 2,360′, the elevation gain for this 40-mile run will be 4,324′ – in the first 20 miles!
Needless to say, no one from Image 420 will be participating in this event. But we wish those who are tough enough to participate nothing but the best.

Read this in last weeks Mountainxpress about a long time friend and customer… ” Malcolm Holcombe‘s Gamblin’ House (recorded at Echo Mountain/another friend and customer) earned praise this year from many outlets, including the No. 1 album of 2008 from one of Billboard’s critics: “Crafty and handsomely-crafted songs from a wise and wizened North Carolina singer/songwriter,” writes Wayne Robins.” We are glad to see you doing so well…
Recently, we printed shirts for Christ School’s football team. The shirts were a tribute to Preston Holmes, a running back that suffered a leg injury. Here’s a photo of the team wearing their shirts.
Thanks for the picture, guys. And we hope that Preston gets well soon.
