Here is the T-shirt design for this year’s Mount Mitchell Challenge, courtesy of the Image 420 Art Department.
The Black Mountain Marathon and Mount Mitchell Challenge is a yearly event in Western North Carolina. Here is a brief description, taken from the marathon’s website:
The Challenge is this: Begin at dawn in Black Mountain, the quaint “front porch of Western North Carolina”, and follow trails to the “rooftop” of Western North Carolina, the 6,684′ summit of Mount Mitchell – eastern America’s highest point – then return to the start/finish area! With a starting altitude of 2,360′, the elevation gain for this 40-mile run will be 4,324′ – in the first 20 miles!
Needless to say, no one from Image 420 will be participating in this event. But we wish those who are tough enough to participate nothing but the best.

Another week a little more work done. We have the body on. A dry run before painting the body. Hope to drive it soon before we paint. We have found out it is a 1928-9 roadster pick-up open body on a 1931 frame. Not all original but it is still going to be a lot of fun…

Our crack team of graphic designers developed this logo for The Third Annual Shamrock Run. Here’s some information about the event:
Asheville Catholic School hosts its third annual 5K and 10K Shamrock Run, starting at 9 a.m. March 14 in North Asheville. A 1K (half-mile) kids Fun Run will start at 10:15 a.m. The 10K course is considered hilly and challenging, starting on Central Avenue near the intersection with East Chestnut Street.
The 10K race is part of the Michelob Ultra Grand Prix Series, hosted by the Asheville Track Club. New this year is a prize for the most original Irish-themed costume. Proceeds will go toward new equipment for ACS’s Physical Education Department and for stage renovations for the Drama Department.
